Admissions
You Have Options...
You have options when it comes to choosing a high school for your child. Families must consider several important factors such as the school’s academic strengths, Catholic identity, community life and its location. With so many choices, parents and their children deserve access to information about all schools in the community and in the Archdiocese.
As you browse the admissions pages, we also invite you to discover more about Chaminade Julienne by watching our Virtual Tour. If you would like to know more about the admissions process at CJ directly, please click the following link to go over the Admissions Overview.
Excellent Academics
A Top 6% School
In May 2012, the Washington Post ranked Chaminade Julienne among the top 6 percent of all United States schools (public and private) through its data-driven High School Index Challenge. Read more about the nationwide High School Index Challenge >
A Leader in STEMM Education
Chaminade Julienne is the only Catholic high school in the nation that is dually certified to provide Project Lead the Way engineering and biomedical sciences curriculum. These rigorous and innovative courses allow students to earn up to 16 hours of college credit while still in high school. Explore CJ’s STEMM and Project Lead the Way programs >
Tops in College Success Data
Chaminade Julienne holds itself accountable for how well its students are prepared to succeed after high school by tracking college success data. Tracking performance trends of recent graduates allows CJ to target and strengthen the school’s areas for improvement, benefitting future and current students alike.
According to data provided by the National Student Clearinghouse, 93 percent of CJ grads enroll in college their first year away from high school and 94 percent of those students return for a second year of college. Additionally, the percentage of CJ students who receive a college degree within six years or less of graduation ranks second among all area school districts. Catholic Faith
Meet the Ministry & Service Team
Chaminade Julienne has one of the largest high school ministry and service teams in the state, comprised of three full-time and three part-time staff members. Sister Nicle Trahan, a Marianist Sister, and Father Matt Robben, chaplain, serve on that team. CJ also has two deacons on staff. Meet the CJ campus Ministry Team >
An Emphasis on Service and Justice
Every year, Chaminade Julienne students complete more than 10,000 community service hours over and above what is required. As part of the experience, students may choose to participate in various enrichment opportunities on the local, national and international scale. Various summer mission trips include stops in Cincinnati, Ohio; Solsberry, Ind.; Detroit, Mich.; and Punta Gorda, Belieze in South America. Students regularly attend mass together at Emmanuel Church, located conveniently next to campus on Franklin Street. Emmanuel is one of the largest and oldest churches in the Dayton Area.
Additionally, CJ students, parents and community members have the opportunity to attend daily morning mass in the school’s chapel (located in the annex near the business office) with Fr. Matt Robben, celebrant. View the student and community Liturgy schedule >

Admissions Criteria
Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School admits students who want to continue to develop their faith, strive to reach their highest academic potential and are self-disciplined. Admissions decisions are made using standardized test scores, writing samples, past academic performance and teacher recommendations. While CJ does not use pre-determined test scores, a balanced academic record and extra-curricular involvement are the best indicators of academic success at CJ.
