Eagles Prep for Season Opener Aug. 18

Chaminade Julienne Women's soccer teams began practice and tryouts on Monday Aug. 6, 2012. The varsity and junior varsity teams were named at the conclusion of the day on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Both teams traveled to Tipp City for scrimmages with Tippecanoe High School on Wednesday, August 8. The junior varsity team lost 1-2. Freshman Katie Settich scored the loan goal. The two varsity teams played to a 0-0 draw.

On Saturday, Aug. 11, the varsity team played in the "All Ohio Showcase" at Delco Park. CJ played three 45-minute games against Troy, Wayne and Oakwood. The Eagles tied Troy 0-0, then defeated Wayne and Oakwood by the identical score of 1-0. Junior Abby Stayer scored both game-winning goals, freshman Anna Money posted the shut-outs versus Troy and Oakwood, and sophomore Kaylen Smith shared time in the net with Money for the shut-out versus Wayne.

Coach Craig remarked that the team is excited about beginning the regular season and will be ready to open at Butler on Saturday, August 18 at 3:00 pm.
