After working for six years as an engineer in the manufacturing and health care industries, I found my passion in working with students and teachers in K-12 STEM – science, technology, engineering, and math – education. Prior to coming to CJ, I was a program manager for the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium at Sinclair Community College for 12 years, where I facilitated connections within the classroom and beyond among high school and college teachers, students, and professionals in the workplace, focusing on engineering career fields. In my commitment to introducing students to engineering and STEM fields at an early age, I have also been involved in efforts to engage middle school and elementary students, especially girls, in the world of science and engineering.
I was excited to come to CJ to jumpstart the CJ STEMM initiative with the purpose of opening academic and professional channels and opportunities to students who choose Catholic education. I coordinate programming to encourage, inspire, and support student interest and academic success in STEMM fields, and serve as a resource for the Project Lead the Way, and science and math instructors at CJ. Having been educated in Catholic schools grades 1-12 myself, and remaining active in the practice of my Catholic faith, I am grateful for the opportunity to play a role at CJ - a quality Catholic teaching and learning community.
