Ministry

Ministry within the CJ community encompasses those elements of school life that help nurture spiritual growth for all members. They include the celebration of liturgies, faculty and staff and student retreats, and peer faith groups for adults and also students through Marianist LIFE (Living In Faith Experiences) and FLIGHT (Faith Leaders in God's Hands Today).

FLIGHT

The FLIGHT program provides a unique opportunity for a selected group of seniors to gain experience as servant leaders and to explore their faith together. FLIGHT is a non-credit class and its members prepare monthly liturgies, lead retreats, plan service activities and provide prayer experiences for the CJ community. Students who wish to become members of FLIGHT must apply for the class as juniors when registering for senior-year classes.

The class meets during first period in the Ministry and Service Office.

Applications available here.

Prayer

Prayer is an essential part of the life of the CJ community. Every school day begins and ends with prayer (read the prayer of the day). Many classes also begin with prayer and time to share personal reflections. In addition to all-school liturigies and worship services, other Masses and prayer services are held for teams, clubs, classes and various groups. In our prayer life, special attention is given to the spiritualities of our founding orders, the Society of Mary and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
