Religion Service Requirements
Each year students at CJ are challenged to fulfill a service component for their religion classes. Service requirements are documented by individual religion teachers. Students are encouraged to check in the Ministry and Service Office on a regular basis for new service opportunities.
Service Required For Each Grade Level
2nd semester Freshman Year: 2 different service opportunities
During second semester of the 2012-13 school year, all freshmen are required to participate in 2 different service opportunities. At least one must be through the CJ Ministry & Service Office and one may be a site of their choosing long as it is pre-approved by their religion teacher. Please note that both sites MAY be through the Ministry & Serivce Office if the student so wishes. Students may stop by the Ministry & Service Office anytime during their free period (before/after school, study hall, homeroom, etc.) to sign up for a service site. Service opportunities for freshmen include R.E.A.C.H. and other opportunities in and around our Dayton community that will be advertised out of our office.

2nd semester Sophomore Year: 2 different service opportunities outside the school and 3 hours of service to cj
During second semester of the 2012-13 school year, all sophomores are required to participate in 2 different service opportunities. At least one must be through the CJ Ministry & Service Office and one may be a site of their choosing long as it is pre-approved by their religion teacher. Please note that both sites MAY be through the Ministry & Serivce Office if the student so wishes. Students may stop by the Ministry & Service Office anytime during their free period (before/after school, study hall, homeroom, etc.) to sign up for a service site. In addition, sophomores are also required to give 3 hours of service to CJ. Opportunities for service to CJ include working the Freshmen Orientation, being a Teacher or Office Aide, working in the Development Office, or any other work that is done for CJ. Opportunities for service outside of CJ include R.E.A.C.H. and other opportunities in and around our Dayton community that will be advertised out of our office.
Junior Year: 25 Hours
Juniors provide 25 hours of service to a Dayton community agency. Service projects incorporate social justice issues such as aging, disabilities, disadvantaged youth, environment, animal welfare, pro-life, poverty, homelessness and hunger. Senior Year: Class Project
Seniors participate in a class-wide service project that impacts the global community.
