  • Pair of wooden tip sticks 2B or 5B -- if this is not what comes in a pack then the pack sticks will do.
  • Pair of Yarn mallets or Cord mallets
  • Helpful but not a requirement are timpani mallets (sometimes come in packs).

A couple of stick bag choices: You can buy individual sticks and mallets, or the whole bags. Check local music retailers, or you can buy online. If you do not need the drum sticks, then you can buy parts individually. Also, having the bag is not a requirement, but it will help to keep the mallets in good shape, and sometimes buying the pack is very cost effective when comparing all the products individually.
