Chaminade Julienne welcomed hundreds of alumni back to campus Friday and Saturday, June 15-16 for the first-annual Reunion Weekend celebration. Classes celebrating milestones this year ended in ‘2’ or ‘7’.
“We are extremely excited to set aside this special weekend to welcome hundreds of graduates from Chaminade, Julienne, St. Joseph and CJ. Our grads return home to Dayton and their downtown alma mater at the corner of Franklin and Ludlow Streets,” said Caitlin Cronin Bennett, alumni relations coordinator.
More than 400 graduates and friends attended the Taste of CJ Friday evening under the tent on Blue Green Field. The Taste featured food and beverage from restaurants owned and operated by graduates including The Amber Rose, Marion’s Piazza, Company 7 BBQ, Jimmie’s Ladder 11, and Four Columns Catering.
“With so many exciting new developments and campus amenities added in just the last three years alone, it is a thrill to have the opportunity to share and celebrate the past, present and future accomplishments of our school as a whole,” Bennett said.
Activities picked up again Saturday morning with alumni tennis matches at the new Eagle Tennis Center, a "Golden Eagles" Luncheon for those celebrating 50 years or more (including one 1933 alum), family fun games in the Student Conditioning Center and a concluding Mass. Reunion Weekend finally wrapped up in traditional fashion Saturday night when milestone classes celebrated individually at area bars and restaurants.
