Eagles Team Up with Friday Friends Again

Chaminade Julienne men’s and women’s soccer players once again teamed up with Therapy Connections, LLC this summer to host a special kids’ camp for children with disabilities.

On June 8, the Eagles welcomed their “Friday Friends” to the Student Conditioning Center and Blue Green Field for fun lessons in the fundamentals of the game. Players then shared a picnic dinner with campers to cap the evening.

“Friday Friends club is designed to provide opportunities for successful social interactions among peers and teen helpers,” according to the Beavercreek pediatric therapy center’s website, www.therapyconnections.net.

Therapy Connections provides programming and education for children of various ages and diagnosis. “Friday Friends” participants at CJ were accompanied by about 50 student-athletes and led in instruction for the second straight year by Matt Money and Roy Craig, head men’s and women’s varsity soccer coaches.

“We try to instill our school’s Catholic mission in players and teach them the value of giving back to the community,” Money said. “So it was our pleasure to have the opportunity to teach kids the game of soccer and have some fun by hosting another ‘Friday Friends’ night again this year.”
