Eagles Tennis Player Flying Solo at State

Congratulations to sophomore Natalie Allen who represented the Eagles in the Division II state tennis tournament for the second consecutive year this weekend.

Natalie returned to Columbus on Oct. 18, this time flying solo, just one year after placing third in the state doubles tournament with teammate Brooke Sandridge ‘13. She finished the regular season with a stellar 20-3 overall record (4-0 GCL), and ended her tournament run at Ohio State on a hard-fought loss (6-4, 2-6, 4-6) in the opening round.

The first singles player helped lead the women's tennis team to a perfect 6-0 league record and a GCL Coed championship. She also recorded big victories over Division I state qualifiers Elizabeth Kong (Mason, singles) and Alexa Abele (Sycamore, doubles) in regular season matches.

In the postseason, Natalie took second at sectionals and third place districts. Teammate Kelly Pleiman, a freshman, also qualified for districts. The team will return all but two graduating seniors for 2014.

Great job on another successful fall season, Eagles!
