Final STEMM Idol Speakers Before Break

Our final two STEMM Idol speakers before Christmas break come to CJ to discuss college and career opportunities — some which start as early as this summer — for high school students of all ages on Tuesday, Dec. 9 and Friday, Dec. 12.

UT Pharmacy Virtual Tour

All students are invited to hear how to become invovled in summer programs through the University of Toledo's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Wright Scholar Research Assistant Program

Pharmacy Camp at UT takes place over two weeks in June 2015. Campers experience what it’s like to be a pharmacy student, living in a residence hall and working in the school’s state-of-the-art pharmacy practice lab over four days and three nights. The cost of registration includes all room and meal expenses, a workbook, and all scheduled camp activites.

The Wright Scholar program is designed to give high school upperclassmen real-world career experience in the fields of engineering and science. Students are employed for up to 10 weeks during the summer and work on an assigned research project under the guidance of a mentor. There is no cost, but applicants must be at least 16 years of age and hold a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Applications are accepted now until Jan. 9, 2015 and successful candidates start June 8.

Not an Upperclassmen?

No worries!

Ms. Crystal Taylor and Mr. Mike Ooten (husband of science co-chair and CJ PLTW instructor Amanda Ooten) also plan to discuss how underclassmen can get a jumpstart on finding the right paths to future academic and professional success.
