CJ Philosophy: Being a high school educator within a community of faith is a very special vocation. When a teacher prays with his students he is developing a spiritual closeness and awareness that allows them to make a mutual impact on each other’s lives. Helping students become people who work for justice in the world is a very important aspect of my social studies classes. The retreat and service programs teach our students the importance of helping others and praying in a community.
As a product of Catholic schools, I am committed to our school mission as provided by the Marianist and Notre Dame religious orders. As such, I strive daily to create a religious environment where lifelong learning is emphasized. I also believe in a disciplined classroom setting, characterized by intellectual curiosity, where students are encouraged to give their very best effort every day. As a social studies teacher I have a responsibility to help my students become contributing members of society who understand their civic responsibility. Parental involvement and communication are strongly recommended.
