CJ Philosophy: I believe CJ provides a high caliber Catholic educational experience for students in an admirably diverse community. Students and families have the opportunity to learn and interact in a true family environment, with multiple support resources from actual family members, faculty, staff, and administrators, and numerous partner individuals from the sponsoring religious orders and community organizations. Students’ academic, spiritual, emotional, and social lives are developed both in and out of the classroom, through activities and relationships in which they are engaged.
I bring experience in, and passion for, cultivating worthwhile relationships that connect students, teachers, and families to the real world of STEMM, in ways that enhance classroom learning and college and career planning. My own education and experience in an engineering field, and more than 20 years of work in K-12 STEM education, enable me to “speak the language” of STEMM professionals, know a vast network of individuals and organizations who may partner with CJ, and share a great number of resources and opportunities for students who want to explore STEMM careers. Twelve years of formal Catholic education, active involvement in a residential Newman Center in college, and engagement in a local Catholic parish community also guide my work at CJ.
