Meet the Schoen Family - 2022 Annual Fund Chairs

Tony and Annie Beyer Schoen ‘97
Molly ’27 and Simon ‘29

Catholic school experiences strengthened the already strong foundation for the Beyer and Schoen families.

We both went through Catholic elementary and high schools and so did our parents and most of our relatives. It was not until later in life that we realized how our parents’ sacrifices shaped our lives.

The way we were taught – with values and faith – showed us a responsibility to our peers and helped us form God’s path for our lives. We are both grateful to have professions today where we can help others and make a difference in our community (Annie as a doctor and Tony as a prosecutor). Our families modeled that for us and so did our Catholic education.

Living away from Dayton for seven years, made us reflect that everything we cherish is right here. It’s a great place to raise our kids and be close to our families. We feel safe and nurtured here. CJ feels the same way.

Those friends I met riding the RTA bus to CJ are still some of the strongest influences in my life. My success personally, academically, and professionally are due to CJ, said Annie.

The Metro Parks, Riverscape, Wegerzyn Gardens, Smales pretzels, and Spaghetti Warehouse are just a few of our favorite things about Dayton, and of course, Chaminade Julienne where we look forward to our kids experiencing the family spirit and goodness of a Catholic education.

Thank you for investing in the mission of CJ and students who will improve our world in big or small places. You are building a tremendous foundation for young people.
