Attendance Policies

Please report absences to the Office of Student Services at (937) 461-3740 ext. 465 (or ext. 216) by 9:30 a.m. each day your student is absent. Absences and tardies due to medical, dental, or other professional appointments are considered excused only with professional documentation provided within seven (7) days of the absence.  Excused absences do not count against student totals for disciplinary purposes.

TARDY POLICIES

Students not in class by 8:05 a.m.(on Homeroom days) or 8:35 a.m. (on non homeroom days) will be considered tardy. Tardiness more than 30 minutes after the start of school must be verified by either a parent note or telephone call. Excused tardies are given only when the student presents a return to school form/note from a doctor or dentist, court, or in the case of an accident, from the police. Students are allowed five unexcused tardies during each semester without consequence. All written documentation must be turned to the Office of Student Services within 7 schools days of the students' tardy. A demerit will be issued for every tardy after five (each semester) not excused by said form/note. A parent call is not considered an excused tardy. Only professional documentation will excuse the tardy.

EARLY DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
We ask that a student wishing to leave school during the day present a note from his/her parent to the Office of Student Services by 7:50 a.m. Parents should indicate in the note the reason for the early dismissal and the time they would like the student to be released. At this time the student will be issued a pass to leave the appropriate class. Students are to sign the register in the Office of Student Services upon leaving and are to check in with the Office of Student Services upon return. Students leaving school due to medical, court, or other appointments are required to bring a note from the doctor or dentist within 7 days upon returning to school to OSS. Students are allowed three unexcused early dismissals during a semester. Those early dismissals covered by a return to school form/note from a doctor, dentist, or the courts will be considered excused and will not count in this total. A demerit will be issued for every early dismissal after three not excused by said form/note. No early dismissal requests left on any voice mail will be accepted.
