Chaminade Julienne Welcomes New Athletic Director

Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School announces the hire of Anthony Turner ‘04 as athletic director.

“Having graduated from CJ in 2004, Anthony brings with him an already established feel and love for the community,” said Dan Meixner, president. “Pairing that with his experience in both special education and school athletics makes this a great fit for the CJ community. We are incredibly excited to watch Anthony flourish in this role.”

Turner ‘04 received his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and his master’s in special education from Grand Canyon University. He then went on to serve as an educational aid and intervention specialist at two different schools before serving as athletic director at another for five years.

“It is an honor to return to my alma mater,” said Turner ‘04. “Returning to CJ has been a goal of mine since beginning my career in education. CJ played an instrumental role in my growth as a person, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.”

At home, Turner has been married to his wife, Kristen, for ten years and they have five children together. In his free time, he enjoys playing the drums, serving the community, and coaching.

“I hope to help guide and foster students to help find their purpose in life and, once we have found that purpose, we can share it to glorify the kingdom of God,” said Turner on the impact he hopes to make at CJ as athletic director.

On his vision for the future of Chaminade Julienne athletics, his answer was two-fold.

“First and foremost, I hope CJ athletics can help build young men and women of character — citizens who value faith, themselves, their team, their school, and their community. Second, win championships with teams who compete at high levels not just based on their talent, but with their non-negotiable work ethic.”
