CJ Family Spirit Weekend - Sept. 24-26

With faith and hope, the Chaminade Julienne community looks forward to celebrating Family Spirit Weekend with events hosted Sept. 24-26. These in-person activities allow us to gather in the CJ spirit of welcome to honor and celebrate our school’s rich 171 year history and tradition, and introduce new families to our community. “Our community thrives when we can be together and celebrate who we are — and invite others into the experience,” said Dan Meixner '84, president.  “We will abide by necessary health precautions to make these activities possible, which, we believe, will help brighten the hope that we all have for better times ahead.”

The events planned include:

FRI. Sept. 24 - CJ Homecoming game vs. Fenwick, kick-off 7 p.m.
  • Welcome table hosted for alumni
  • Homecoming court is announced
SAT. Sept. 25 - CJ Homecoming dance (Classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024)

SUN. Sept. 26 - multiple activities — All are welcome!

CJ Open House on Sunday, Sept. 26, 4-6 p.m. opens the entire campus for guests to tour our recently renovated teaching and learning spaces, speak with teachers and staff members, and meet with current students and parents. Eagle Ambassadors will take visitors through a “try it” format, which allows guests to interact with teachers and students, and learn more about the school’s plans for future expansion centered around the student experience. Stops on the tour include meeting representatives from ministry & service, academic departments, athletics, business office and student services. Guests are invited to enjoy dinner provided by Marion's Piazza, Amber Rose and Twist Cupcakery.

Additionally, CJ is among the sponsors for the Matt Maher Concert at Levitt Pavillion on Sunday, Sept. 26. It is an effort by the Dayton Catholic community to bring a gift of joy and healing to the Dayton community. The concert had originally been slated for the fall of 2020 following a series of tragic events: Memorial Day tornados, KKK rally on Courthouse Square, and the Oregon District mass shooting, but the impact of the pandemic made that impossible. It is with great joy that the sponsors provide “An evening of HOPE, ENCOURAGEMENT and WORSHIP” to our city.
